Our Story

Dr Bethany Royle, HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist

Royle Psychology was founded by Dr Bethany Royle, an Educational Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Dr Royle holds a Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology from the University of Manchester and has over eight years of experience working with children, young people, families and educational settings. Prior to qualifying as an Educational Psychologist, she worked as a primary teacher, providing a strong foundation in child development, learning and inclusive educational practice.

Her professional experience spans consultation, assessment and therapeutic work across all four areas of special educational need, supporting children and young people from birth to 25 years old. She also works alongside Local Authorities in providing psychological advice for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments.

Alongside her independent practice, Dr Royle works as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Manchester and contributes to research, publications and professional discussion within the field of Educational Psychology. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, including Educational Psychology in Practice, alongside professional blogs exploring topics relating to children, young people, education and SEND.
